Have an upcoming event and want to gift this beautiful pendant, made with flowers that you chose for the recipient?
***Just follow these steps:
When you return from your occasion, take a few moments to preserve your flowers so that they may be properly turned into jewelry. Select a few of the most vibrant flowers from your bouquet(s), choosing 2-4 of each flower, and in a few different colors, that you would like preserved is best (more choices of preserved flowers in various colors helps to ensure a beautiful piece). Once you have selected your flowers, hang them upside down in a warm, dark and well circulated space and let them dry for 10-14 days, the drier the better. Once your flowers have dried, wrap them in a few paper towels for protection, then seal them in a zip-lock bag. Now that they are wrapped and sealed, place them in a padded paper envelope, (add more paper towels for padding if you would like) and send them to me (contact me a mailing address). I will then compose a beautiful pendant for you in your choice of sizes (see chart). I also provide gold pendants for an additional charge, please message me for rates.
The whole process is a little lengthily, but time between flower selection and hand-created pendant can be reduced when doing either of the following:
~~If your flowers are pre-dried (from an older bouquet-- It does not matter how old the bouquet is, just know that flowers will be preserved in whatever color they have dried to).
~~If you contact me as soon as you know that you would like a pendant (before you begin drying the flowers, so that I may use the time in which your flowers are drying to acquire your desired bezel and prepare the encasing resin).
My Personal Story:
My Grandmother was truly my best friend and after she passed away two years ago, I was searching for a way to honor her and keep my memories of her close. I had preserved some flowers from various bouquets that were on display at her funeral. A purple rose from the "grandmother" bouquet, some red carnations from the "sister" bouquet, and a few yellow roses from the "mother" bouquet. I knew creating a beautiful piece of jewelry with her flowers in it would be the perfect way to always keep her close to my heart. I made these pendants for myself, my grandmother's sister, and my mother. Not only is it a stunning piece of jewelry, but we are always asked what the significance is, and we get to tell them the story of what an incredible person my grandmother was!
If you are like me, you enjoy preserving little bits of a memory or event. This a perfect, beautiful, and very individualized and unique way to do just that!
*If your flowers are not dried properly, color fade may occur over time.
*Please know that sometimes bubbles in the preservation resin do occur. I do my very best to coerce bubbles out of the resin before it cures, but sometimes, bubbles get caught under brittle dried flower pieces and I will not destroy your very important flowers to release the bubbles.
